A Holistic Approach

I offer personalized services by way of classical Āyurvedic health counselling in conjunction with Western therapeutic modalities. First-time clients are asked to do an in-depth Āyurvedic Health Consultation.

What kind of health issues can Ayurveda address?

REMOVE THE ROOT CAUSE

Ayurveda is a holistic science that looks at the root of illness and disease. Because of this unique approach, I can address a wide range of issues in the body and mind. Here are a few of the common reasons people seek an Ayurvedic consultation (note this list is not comprehensive):

  • Digestive issues (for example, IBS, Crohn’s, diverticulitis, constipation, diarrhea)

  • Hormone imbalance (PMS, symptoms of menopause)

What happens in an Ayurvedic health consultation?

Ayurvedic health consultations start with the whole picture of your health (body, mind and spirit). Before the consultation, you’ll fill out a wellness questionnaire that will get you ready to talk with me about where you have been in your state of health, where you are now and where you can go. I will help you better understand your unique constitutional makeup and ways to uncover your true state of health. Working with your own unique circumstances, I will offer thoughtful, sustainable, individual lifestyle, self-care, diet, nutrition, and herbal recommendations to bring you into balance during the present season and your current stage of life.

This is a true holistic practice that can help you find greater balance in every aspect of your life. The consultation is designed to show you the light of Ayurveda so you can become your own healer and improve your health, no matter what is thrown in your path. Initial consultations are 90 minutes to allow for a thorough assessment. Follow-up sessions may be shorter or longer based on your needs. We can meet in person, online, or by telephone to connect with you wherever you are.

What To Expect

In general, you can expect to receive diet recommendations, lifestyle, self-care and routine changes, stress management, exercise and yoga practice, meditation, mindfulness, and pranayama, as well as herbal recommendations suited to both the season of the year and the season of your life. These services aren’t one-size fits all; they’re individual and in the spirit of Āyurveda take a personalized approach to health.

Sessions always begin with me listening to your story and end with a personalized wellness plan that includes recommendations on what and how to eat, daily routine, Ayurvedic herbs and treatments, aromatherapy, meditation, mantras, energetic healings, Yoga asana and so much more.

An Ayurvedic Food Plan

After determining your Ayurvedic body type and finding out about your normal schedule and routine, I will help you to create an eating plan that fits with your life and gives you a solid framework for when, how, and what to eat for you to be as healthy as you possibly can.   

Ayurvedic Herbs & Spices

In Ayurvedic medicine, herbs and spices may be suggested as part of your prescription.  Spices are suggested in your food plan according to your body type and season. Herbs may be suggested as well, but they are chosen very carefully and sparingly and only as a support to the other changes that you are making.   

Sustainable Asana Practice 

Specific yoga poses will be selected for you to bring balance to your body type. We will consider the seasons, the time of day, the time of the month, and your stage in life.  You will be offered a unique yoga routine to practice at home at a pace that is appropriate for the state of your health at the moment. I’ll make sure that it fits in with your schedule so that your plan enables you to cultivate mindfulness, harmony, and peace and release stress instead of adding to it! And your body will get stronger and more flexible too! 

Somatic Therapy & Mindfulness 

Somatic therapy has many proven benefits for those struggling with mental health conditions such as PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Bringing awareness back to the body and reconditioning it to release the trauma stored deep within the nervous system can improve many symptoms of mental health disorders. 

Mindfulness is about learning to stay in the present moment without judgment. You can learn to use it to alleviate the stress that can accrue over time within the body-mind complex. Meditation and pranayama are wonderful tools from Yoga and Ayurveda that will help you find more inner peace and calm.

Habits, Routines & Practices to Foster a Greater Sense of Inner Knowing

Ground yourself in healthy, lasting habits with an Ayurvedic daily routine. You will be invited to explore small changes that are aimed at putting you in touch with your true self, the part of you that wants to be healthy, so that making permanent changes is attainable and simple.


Create an Ayurvedic Plan that Fits in With Your Life & Schedule

A big part of our work together will be looking at how you are doing now and deciding which habits you want to keep and which habits you’d like to change. You can choose what you want to keep and let go of what no longer serves you.

A wellness plan customized to meet your individual needs.

Resources to support you beyond sessions, including recipes, handouts, and journaling worksheets as well as guided meditation, relaxation, and a list of yoga practices.

Initial Consultation (90 mins): $255

Follow-Up Appointments

Follow-up appointments are encouraged to help you develop and reinforce healthier habits and routines. They also allow us to check in and adapt your wellness plan to your current needs. We may build on what’s been established, adjust your wellness plan, or address new health concerns, and add to the current recommendations.

Email support between sessions for continued support.

A wellness plan customized to meet your individual needs.

Resources to support you beyond sessions, including recipes, handouts, and journaling worksheets as well as guided meditation, relaxation, and a list of yoga practices.

Cost:

90-75 minutes = $185

60 minutes = $145

30 minutes* = $85

*30-minute follow-ups are available only if it has been less than 6 months since your last consultation.

Conscious Eating & Cooking Class

Food is medicine when used as nature intended. If you’d like to dive deeper into Ayurvedic cooking and learn how to use Ayurvedic herbs and spices to bring healing, balance & great taste. As well as understand the value of prana and how fresh food can support your health. Then come on over and I’ll show you how to prepare, cook, and eat in a manner that will enhance your vitality & well-being. Home cooking doesn’t need to be complicated or stressful. I will introduce you to a simple framework to plan everyday meals so that you can stop wondering what to eat to stay healthy. You’ll feel empowered to cook nourishing meals that won’t cause imbalance in your body and mind.

Seasonal Reset

Ayurveda originated in India more than 5,000 years ago and is considered the world's oldest continuously practiced holistic medical health system. As a successful holistic approach to healing for thousands of years, it focuses on removing symptoms and eradicating the underlying causes of disease while providing tools and guidance to maintain a well-balanced healthy life. Ayurveda uses food as medicine, herbs, lifestyle routines, bodywork therapies, and gentle seasonal cleansing to nourish the tissues, remove stagnation, and increase health.

Ayurvedic cleanses have been used in India for many centuries to restore balance in the body and mind. It’s a way to improve your digestion and boost your immunity. When we don’t properly digest our foods, thoughts, or experiences—when we have poor digestion all around—it can lead to anxiety, foggy thinking, and lack of energy. Dinacharya (Daily Routine) Guidance

Looking for support with your daily routine? Learn how to structure your daily yoga practice according to your unique constitution and wellness needs. I will provide you with suggested breathwork (pranayama), postures (asana), cleansing techniques (kriyas), meditation, mudras, and mantras to start your day off in a calm and relaxed way that is both personal and manageable.
